MUSTY2009® – Advanced Reusable Oil Spill Response Technology

MUSTY2009® is a patented, plant-based, reusable sorbent developed by Recoverit International to deliver a safer, more effective, and environmentally responsible solution to oil spills and hydrocarbon contamination.

Engineered to repel water and attract oil, MUSTY2009 rapidly binds hydrocarbons, forming floating clumps that are easy to contain and recover. It can absorb up to six times its own weight in oil, be squeezed to release the oil, and reused multiple times, dramatically reducing waste and response costs.

Available as loose granules or in booms and nets, MUSTY2009 is designed for rapid deployment across marine, coastal, and industrial environments — from leaking vessels and ports to workshops, hard surfaces, and contaminated sediments.
